About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps is conducting a surplus property sale through Marine Corps Base Hawaii's Qualified Recycling Program, offering approximately 7,500 to 10,000 pounds of steel scrap and 12,500 to 15,000 pounds of aluminum scrap via two separate Invitations for Bids (IFB M0031826FMETALSALE). The bidding period runs from April 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Hawaii Standard Time through May 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., with award expected by May 25, 2026 or within five business days thereafter. Bids must be submitted via email to QRP Manager Patrick Crile and Alternate QRP Manager Captain Ryan LaLonde and should include the IFB number, company information, price per pound, and acceptance of sale terms and conditions. The award will be made to the bidder offering the highest price per pound who can execute the agreement in full. The Regional Contracting Office Hawaii is administering the sale, and the awarded purchaser must remove materials within 14 days of notification and submit payment via cashier's or certified check to the U.S. Department of Treasury within 15 days of pickup, with payment required before removal. Base access requires a current driver's license, vehicle registration, active vehicle insurance, and current vehicle safety check, and interested parties may schedule material inspections by appointment with Joseph Lapera. Default on payment or removal obligations within the specified timeframe may result in debarment for one year or indefinitely from future sales.
