About this opportunity

The Food and Drug Administration's Office of Product Quality and Research seeks a Molecular Modeling Simulation Platform or comparable software suite, with proposals due July 1, 2026. No set-aside applies.

Place of performance is Silver Spring, Maryland. The platform will be deployed on FDA's Precision 7920 Tower workstation running Ubuntu Linux with Intel Xeon Gold 5220R CPU (24 cores), 128GB memory, dual Nvidia RTX A5000 GPUs (8192 CUDA cores each, 24GB VRAM), and 512GB storage. The vendor must deliver a single integrated software suite capable of seamless workflow transfer from current systems without model rebuilding, parallel simulation of at least two molecular dynamics projects, all-atom and coarse-grain modeling, machine learning-based molecular property prediction, GPU acceleration with at least 60% performance improvement, protein structure preparation and analysis, protein-excipient interaction simulation (minimum 70,000 atoms over 270+ nanoseconds), stability and reactivity analysis, visualization tools, and QSAR modeling. Required software packages and licenses include machine learning tools, molecular visualization, conformational sampling, pKa prediction, docking, protein structure prediction, quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics simulations, KNIME, Maestro, and OPLtS access. The vendor must provide complete installation and deployment on FDA's in-house workstation, full technical training and support, and a minimum of three days of full-time professional services for comprehensive modeling support and knowledge transfer. The vendor's scientists must demonstrate published expertise and proven track record in pharmaceutical and regulatory science applications involving molecular dynamics simulation. The NAICS code is 541511, Custom Computer Programming Services. PSC code is R412, Support—Professional: Simulation.
