About this opportunity

The contract pertains to FBN1 Marfan Syndrome Test services, with Laboratory Corp of America identified as the intended vendor. This proposed contract action will be conducted under simplified acquisition procedures, with a determination that only one source can satisfy the agency's requirements. The period of performance is set for 14 days after award, and the contract will be a fixed-price arrangement. The primary objective of this Special Notice is to provide transparency about the VA's intent to award a sole source contract for genetic testing services. Interested parties are invited to submit supporting evidence demonstrating their capability to fulfill the requirement by January 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST, by emailing the Contracting Officer, Roger Tang. While the notice is not a request for competitive quotations, contractors can submit information for potential review, though the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the procurement. No subcontracting opportunities are anticipated, and no cost will be incurred by the government for reviewing submitted responses. The specific contract covers FBN1 single gene analysis testing to help diagnose Marfan Syndrome, with results to be faxed to VA Pittsburgh according to VA security requirements.
