The Family of Concealable Body Armor (FoCBA) program will employ an evolutionary acquisition strategy through incremental development based on anticipating industry design upgrades to reach the desired objective capability of a single vest configurable to NIJ STD 0101.06 ballistic level III and NIJ STD 0115.00 stab/spike Level III protections depending on mission requirements. By using an incremental development approach the Government will insert technology toward the objective capability for ballistics Level III and edged blade/spike Level III stab protection based on a planned life cycle of five (5) to ten (10) years.
