About this opportunity
The National Institute of Standards and Technology seeks fabrication of custom micropillar arrays for Atom Probe Tomography research, with quotations due September 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM Eastern Time. The procurement is a Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS 541713, Research and Development in Nanotechnology, with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees.
Place of performance is Gaithersburg, Maryland. The Material Measurement Laboratory requires 25-post micropillar arrays produced from NIST-supplied silicon wafers containing epitaxial silicon films, pre-sharpened and directly compatible with CAMECA LEAP 6000XR instruments. Each array must consist of 25 micropillars on coupons identical in design to CAMECA 25 Microtip Coupon Optimized for Automation (CAMECA PN 27181/28002), with micropillar tip apex diameters less than 50 nm. Coupons must be compatible with CAMECA 25 Tip One-Sided Coupon Holder (CAMECA PN 27213) and include traceability documentation on coupon location and wafer number. Five additional dies measuring 10 mm × 10 mm to 15 mm × 15 mm shall be provided for complementary analysis.
Delivery is required within 16 weeks of receipt of government-provided materials to Building 301, Room B231, NIST Gaithersburg. The contractor shall deliver one complete custom pre-sharpened micropillar array and five additional dies. Quotations must be Firm-Fixed Price and submitted via email to Tish Walker at latish.walker@nist.gov. Award will be made to the responsible offeror providing best value considering technical capability and prior experience with comparable micropillar fabrication. The contractor must maintain active SAM registration.
