Notice text
Scope of Work:
Development of replacement and alternative Shape Stable Nosetip (SSNT) materials for both existing Navy Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Reentry Systems (MK4 & MK5), and the development and fabrication of thermal protection system materials and components (including nosetips, heatshields, control surfaces and antenna windows) for new/advanced Navy reentry systems and flight test experiments.
Background:
The proposed contract was synopsized on the beta.SAM website on 23 March 2021. While multiple companies expressed interest in the requirement, none of the companies submitted a capability statement after discussions with the Government. The Justification and Approval for Use of Other than Full and Open Competition was approved on 16 June 2021. The NSWCDD Deputy for Small Business concurred with the decision to solicit a sole source contract with Intermat.
