About this opportunity

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee modification to The Boeing Company on July 16, 2026, to definitize the A-Kit for final design, fabrication, delivery, and installation on F/A-18E/F aircraft as part of the Advanced Electronic Warfare (ADVEW) Flight Test Integration program, with a modification value of $21.1 million.

The modification was issued against Task Order N0001925F0085 under existing contract N0001921G0006. The award was made under sole-source authority per 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, with NAVAIR determining that Boeing is the only responsible source capable of meeting requirements. The work supports Non-Recurring Engineering activities including design, fabrication, test, and delivery of approximately eight Flight Test Kits for Lots 26-42A Service Life Modification Block III aircraft. NAVAIR's market research included a Sources Sought notice (July 2025), pre-solicitation notice (December 2024), and re-postings (September 2025 and March 2026), each yielding insufficient or no viable responses. The Government determined that transitioning to another contractor would require a minimum four years and cause unacceptable delays to the program's Initial Operational Capability target in Q3 FY30.
