About this opportunity

The Department of Defense has issued a Special Notice requesting information from interested vendors for the F117 Engine Sustainment Support (ESS) program. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Propulsion Sustainment Division is seeking sources capable of providing full depot-level maintenance for up to 1,300 F117 engines per year, including approximately 160 engines requiring repair or overhaul annually.

The purpose of this RFI is to gather information from potential contractors on their capabilities to support the F117 engine maintenance requirements. Key details include the need for respondents to provide information on engine repair turnaround times, test facilities, lead times for initial and full operational capability, certifications, and experience with jet engine overhaul. Interested parties are requested to submit responses by March 8, 2024. The contract is anticipated to be a sole-source award, with subcontracting encouraged, especially for small businesses. The Air Force is also developing a process to allow conditional approval for the use of FAA-approved PMA parts to support the F117 engines.
