About this opportunity
The United States Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center, through the 421st Supply Chain Management Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base, is conducting market research to identify potential remanufacture sources for F108 Large Tip Fuel Nozzles used in CFM56-2B aircraft engines. The Air Force seeks qualified contractors capable of performing complete disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and remanufacturing of fuel nozzle components to like-new condition, including supply chain management, logistics, parts procurement, and delivery of completed assets. Interested sources must be capable of operating at an FAA Part 145 facility rated for CFM56-2B engine components and must comply with CFM56-2B Service Bulletins, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM 73-11-42 and CMM 73-11-43), and applicable FAA Airworthiness Directives. The government will use responses to this market research to determine the best acquisition strategy, assess competitive viability, and evaluate whether the requirement qualifies for a small business set-aside. Interested vendors must select the "Add Me to Interested Vendors" button by March 18, 2026, to be considered participants in this market research effort; notably, this is a Sources Sought Synopsis only, and no formal solicitation or contractual commitment exists at this time.
This opportunity carries no set-aside designation at present, though the government is specifically interested in responses from all potential sources including small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, 8(a) firms, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone small businesses, and women-owned small businesses. No incumbent contractor is identified in this pre-solicitation notice, and no specific award value or budget range has been disclosed. Prospective contractors must demonstrate qualification through the Repair Qualification Requirements (RQR) process, requiring a valid Quality Assurance Certificate (ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9110, or NATO AQAP-2070) and submission of a Source Approval Request package that includes engineering data, production documents, equipment lists, and evidence of recent repair capability. The remanufacture effort addresses multiple fuel nozzle configurations including small-to-large tip conversions and both standard and enriched flow variants, with all remanufactured components required to be restored to original life expectancy and remain interchangeable without alterations. No solicitation timeline has been announced, and no funds are currently available to compensate respondents for their market research contributions.
