Amendment was to add the solicitation document. 7.29.2020
This acquisition is for the spares buy (supply) of the Remote Control Lever (NSN: 3040-01-267-7734) from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Pratt & Whitney.
Item description and function: 6.3 inches longX 5.3 inches wide X 3 inches high, weighing 1 lbs., and composed of aluminum. Control Push-Pull, rear compressor variable vane feedback changes the position of the inlet guide vanes and the stator vanes to avoid compressor stall. This action maintains the velocity of the air (and the angle at which it strikes) within limits. This is a CRITICAL SAFETY ITEM (CSI).
The rights to use the data needed to purchase this part from additional sources are not owned by the United States Air Force and cannot be purchased, developed or otherwise obtained. Only one qualified source is known, therefore this requirement will be solicited as sole source to P&W, per the sole source authority at FAR 6.302-1.
OMBUDSMAN (AUG 2005) (An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition.) The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Interested parties are invited to call the Ombudsman (AFSC/PZC) at 405-736-3273. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER FOR SOLICITATION REQUESTS.
