About this opportunity
The 325th Contracting Squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base, operating under the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command, is conducting market research through this Request for Information (RFI) to identify vendors capable of supplying F-35 Wheel and Tire Shipping/Storage Container support kits. The procurement seeks eight complete support kit packages, each consisting of eight Tactical ISU-90 lockers, two mobile container loading ramps, and sixteen Wheel Storage Transportation (WST XS) units designed to safely store, handle, and transport F-35 wheels, tires, rims, and wheel accessories for daily operations, temporary duty assignments, and deployment requirements. Interested vendors must demonstrate capability to meet the detailed specifications outlined in the salient characteristics document, including materials requirements, load capacities, dimensional constraints, and F-35 wheel storage and transportation approval standards. This is a market research phase only, and respondents need only indicate whether their company can meet the outlined requirements without submitting formal proposals. The response deadline is March 27, 2026, just four days after the posting date of March 23, 2026.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting eligibility to qualified small business entities. No incumbent contractor or current supplier is identified in the pre-solicitation materials. The contract specifications indicate delivery is required by July 1, 2026, to the F-35 Sustainment Center at Tyndall Air Force Base with warranty coverage for parts only for one year from delivery. While no explicit award value is stated in this RFI phase, the scope—eight complete kits each containing thirty-two major components—indicates a substantial procurement. Vendors should direct inquiries to SSgt Kristian Green at 850-283-9656 or kristian.green@us.af.mil for additional information regarding specifications and capability requirements.
