About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Air Systems Command is seeking to procure Ancillary Mission Equipment (AME), specifically Ancillary Armament Equipment (AAE), for F-35 Lightning II Lots 20-21. The contract is intended to be sole-sourced to Lockheed Martin Corporation Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth, TX, under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1). The equipment includes weapon umbilical cables, pylons, and related components, with Lockheed Martin identified as the only qualified and responsible source capable of fulfilling the requirements. Interested parties may submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to provide the requested services by April 8, 2025, which is fifteen days after the notice's publication. Questions regarding the notice should be directed to Nicole Lawrence via email, and potential subcontracting opportunities can be discussed with Stephen Collins.
There is no specific set-aside designation for this contract opportunity. The anticipated award date is projected for the second quarter of calendar year 2026, with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics being the presumptive contractor. The contract is export-controlled, making the data unavailable to foreign sources or representatives. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement is part of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office's ongoing acquisition of aircraft components. The sole-source intent suggests the government views Lockheed Martin as the exclusive provider of these specialized AME components for the F-35 program. Small businesses interested in subcontracting are encouraged to contact the provided point of contact, though the government retains full discretion in determining whether to compete the proposed contract based on any received responses.
