About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research for an F-16 Power Supply, seeking to determine available sources capable of meeting their specific requirements. The procurement involves acquiring two power supply units with NSN 6130-01-457-1188 and part number 3129307-5, intended for F-16 aircraft maintenance. The agency is using authority under 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), which indicates the supplies are available from limited sources and no alternative supplies will satisfy their needs. Interested parties are invited to submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations within 15 days of the notice, with communication directed to Michelle Mihu at michelle.mihu@us.af.mil. The government acknowledges that they do not own the data or rights to purchase this part from multiple sources and have determined it would be uneconomical to acquire such rights or reverse engineer the component.
The procurement is not set aside for small businesses, and Raytheon (CAGE 96214) is suggested as a potential subcontracting partner. The estimated delivery schedule requires completion on or before March 30, 2027, with destination codes specified as DMOK00 and DBU002. The procurement falls under the NAICS category 335931 for Current-Carrying Wiring Device Manufacturing and PSC category 6130 for Electrical Nonrotating Converters. The contract opportunity is subject to Free Trade Agreements, and while the government is not planning to use commercial item acquisition policies, interested parties can still propose commercial alternatives. The solicitation emphasizes that this notice is not a formal Request for Proposal or commitment to contract, and the government will not pay for any information submitted during this market research phase.
