About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research to procure F-16 Computer Fire Control components through this combined Request for Information and Synopsis notice. The primary objectives are to determine if alternative sources exist capable of satisfying the agency's requirements, to identify whether commercial or non-developmental items are available, and to enhance competition by advertising contracting and subcontracting opportunities. Interested parties should direct inquiries to Dennis Bouy at 385-591-5035 or dennis.bouy@us.af.mil, with responses due by April 23, 2026. This notice is not a formal Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid, and the Government makes no commitment to contract or to pay for information submitted. Capable firms and potential subcontractors are encouraged to submit capability statements or proposals demonstrating their ability to meet the stated requirements. The Government does not anticipate awarding this requirement under Part 12 commercial items acquisition policies, though interested parties may identify commercial item alternatives within 15 days of this notice.

This procurement is not set-aside for small businesses, and market research has indicated that supplies are available from only one or a limited number of responsible sources. BAE Systems (CAGE 99789) has been identified as a potential incumbent or related firm with relevant capabilities in this domain. The Government seeks to procure 32 units of Computer Fire Control components (NSN 1270-01-569-0151WF, Part Number 57737A100000-02) for delivery to FB2029 by July 15, 2028. While no specific contract award value is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, the procurement timeline and quantity specifications indicate a substantive engagement requiring specialized technical expertise in aircraft fire control systems manufacturing. The justification for limited competition, citing availability from only one or a limited number of responsible sources, suggests this is a specialized technical requirement where capability and experience will be critical factors in the eventual source selection process.
