About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Hill Air Force Base intends to solicit F-16 Canopy Jettison Rocket Motors (CJRM) with a response deadline of June 3, 2026; this is an unrestricted acquisition with no set-aside.
The government will procure canopy-jettisoned rocket motors in multiple configurations (NSN 1377-01-619-6871 ES and NSN 1377-01-620-3027 ES) to satisfy foreign military sales requirements to Iraq, Taiwan, NATO, Egypt, Belgium, Pakistan, Indonesia, Turkey, Bahrain, Greece, UAE, Korea, and Chile, plus U.S. Air Force and Navy internal requirements across 24 separate line items. Place of performance is Hill Air Force Base, Utah, with FOB Destination delivery specified.
Only United States and Canada suppliers are eligible. The CJRM performs a critical aircraft safety function; manufacturing defects could result in product functional degradation, aircraft mission capability loss, or loss of aircraft and crew. Currently approved sources are Rockwell Collins (cage 17610) and Nammo Talley (cage 12116).
All items are classified as Hazard Class/Division 1.3C (Rocket Motors, UN0186). Prospective offerors must complete pre-contract award qualification before award, including submission of qualification test procedures and reports per DI-NDTI-80604, manufacturing and inspection procedures, and production articles built and tested per specifications 16VK014-3 (left-hand side) or 16VK014-4 (right-hand side). The government estimates qualification completion in 360 days; offerors bear qualification costs estimated at $5,000 to $50,000. Contractors must comply with ISO 9001-2015 quality standards, DFARS ammunition and explosives safety requirements, Item Unique Identification standards, and extensive data submission obligations including monthly production status reports, lot acceptance test plans, and failure analysis reports submitted electronically through WAWF.
