About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is conducting market research to identify potential sources for an Eyesafe Laser Rangefinder (ELRF) with Container (NSN: 1240-01-695-0625), a containerized, eyesafe laser rangefinder subsystem designed for integration with the Gunner's Primary Sight on the Abrams M1A2 Tank. This optical sighting and ranging equipment is intended to determine target range under various battlefield conditions, including obscured visibility, while also projecting a visible, collimated reticle to provide an aim point for the tank's weapon systems. Interested contractors must respond by March 11, 2026, and should note that this pre-solicitation notice does not constitute a request for proposals but rather a survey to canvas industry for possible sources. Contractors must understand that the Government does not possess full data rights to the Technical Data Package and will evaluate responses based on capability to meet the Source Approval Program requirements, which include vehicle-level qualification testing at the contractor's expense. The response deadline of March 11, 2026, represents the critical date for contractors to express interest and provide capability information to the TACOM Life Cycle Management Command.

This opportunity carries no set-aside designation and represents a competitive procurement effort based on government market research findings. The guaranteed minimum quantity is 24 units, with an estimated maximum five-year quantity of 570 units, indicating a substantial long-term supply requirement. No incumbent contractor is identified in this pre-solicitation notice, and award value information has not been disclosed at this stage. Contractors interested in becoming approved sources must independently meet the requirements of the Source Approval Program, including conducting their own vehicle-level qualification testing, with oversight and support available through TACOM Life Cycle Management Command's Competition Management Office. This market research effort signals the Government's intent to establish a competitive supplier base for this critical tank-mounted optical equipment.
