About this opportunity
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is seeking sources to provide maintenance and repair services for a CAT 315D Excavator. The project requires a certified Caterpillar service provider to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the heavy equipment and prepare a detailed repair report. Technicians must be Caterpillar-certified and possess the necessary credentials to perform specialized maintenance work. Contractors are required to use only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Caterpillar factory parts to maintain equipment warranty. The pre-solicitation notice requires interested firms to submit a capability statement that includes details about their technical experience, special qualifications, certifications, and past performance related to heavy equipment repair. Firms must also provide their business size classification and confirm their intent to submit an offer when the solicitation is advertised. The response deadline is 2:00 PM PDT on Friday, April 25, 2025, and must be submitted via email to Ruth Johnson, the contract specialist.
This pre-solicitation notice does not have a specific set-aside designation, meaning it is open to all qualifying businesses. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 811310, with a small business size standard of $12,500,000. The work will be performed at a contractor-provided facility, and the service will involve a comprehensive inspection followed by necessary repairs. While no specific award value is mentioned, the requirement for OEM parts and certified technicians suggests a potentially significant investment in equipment maintenance. The project appears to be a one-time repair and inspection service for a single excavator, with the primary focus on maintaining the equipment's operational status and preserving its manufacturer's warranty. Interested contractors must provide their CAGE Code and SAM Unique Entity Identifier as part of their submission.
