About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 3 engine blocks (NSN 7R-2815-017026674-SX) through a pre-solicitation notice posted on December 20, 2024, with responses due by April 4, 2025. The contract involves repair and modification of engine assemblies, with specific technical documentation (TDP VER 001) required for potential vendors. Award will be contingent upon meeting qualification requirements in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1, and vendors must demonstrate their capability to satisfy government specifications. Interested parties can obtain necessary military specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) in Philadelphia, with documents primarily available through ASSIST-Online or by contacting their help desk. The government will evaluate potential commercial item alternatives, allowing interested vendors 15 days from the notice date to identify their capability to meet the requirement.
This pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned in the document. The solicitation is for a delivery of 3 engine block units, with delivery specified as FOB Origin, suggesting the government will determine transportation logistics. While no specific award value is provided, the procurement falls under the PSC Category 2815-P for Diesel Engines and Components. Vendors must be prepared to meet complex qualification requirements and provide detailed technical documentation to be considered for the contract. The procurement process allows for multiple engagement methods, including online document retrieval, telephone communication, and mail-in requests for additional information about the qualification requirements.
