About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 15 electron tubes (NSN 7R-5960-003210620-XE) through a pre-solicitation notice for repair and modification. The proposed contract action intends to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though all responsible sources may identify their interest and capability to respond. Interested parties can obtain relevant military specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) in Philadelphia, either via online ASSIST-Quick Search or by contacting their help desk. The government will consider proposals received within 45 days of publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement), with the final determination of competitive procurement remaining solely at the government's discretion. Potential vendors must download or request technical documents and be prepared to demonstrate their capability to meet the specific technical requirements.

This pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation and does not mention incumbent contractors or precise award values. The procurement is categorized under Product Service Code 5960 for Electron Tubes and Associated Hardware, with a delivery specified as FOB Origin. While the government is not using FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition, interested parties have 15 days to identify potential commercial item solutions. The technical data package (TDP) version 001 accompanies the solicitation, and vendors must carefully review all specification requirements. The current opportunity appears focused on a precise technical requirement for electronic components, with strict documentation and qualification standards that potential contractors must carefully evaluate and meet.
