About this opportunity

The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced a sole-source, firm fixed-price contract award to EDAC Systems, Inc. for annual maintenance, repair, and cleaning of scanner instruments over a twelve-month period, with responses due by September 7, 2026. This is an 8(a) sole-source procurement reserved to a single awardee under FAR 6.302-1 (Only One Responsible Source).

The FBI's Information Management Division requires maintenance services from the original equipment manufacturer to retain warranty coverage on Ricoh (Fujitsu) 7700 Scanner instruments, Falcon Scanners, and XDS (BancTec) Scanners. EDAC holds facility clearance to support classified sites and maintains access to manufacturer-authorized consumables and replacement parts. The FBI states that EDAC is the only vendor authorized to service Ricoh or Fujitsu branded products based on market research and government end-user input, and that certified manufacturer service engineers must perform work to avoid warranty voidance.

Although this notice constitutes the only publication and is not a competitive solicitation, interested parties may submit capability statements to Contract Specialist Brandy Binford at bbinford@fbi.gov by the response deadline. The FBI will use responses solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. NAICS 811210 applies.
