About this opportunity
The Defense Information Systems Agency has issued a Special Notice for ECV vehicle body repair services, posted on August 1, 2025, with responses due by August 4, 2025. This procurement falls under NAICS code 811111 for General Automotive Repair and PSC code J025 for Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment-Vehicular Equipment Components. The opportunity is classified as a sole source requirement with no set-aside designation. The contracting opportunity ID is 7668153ce2684c3a88fba7957855d2e0, and it specifically targets bodywork repair services for specialized vehicles. The agency has indicated this is a non-competitive procurement targeting a single vendor.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to inform the contracting community that the agency intends to award a sole source contract to KWAIK AutoBody for specialized vehicle bodywork repairs. The justification centers on KWAIK AutoBody's established experience and specialized understanding of these particular vehicles, with the agency asserting that utilizing alternative repair facilities would introduce unnecessary time delays, complexity, and risk to both the vehicles and the government. Contractors have until August 4, 2025, to respond to this notice, though the sole source nature indicates limited competitive opportunities. The eligibility appears restricted to KWAIK AutoBody based on their unique qualifications and prior performance history with these specialized vehicles. The agency emphasizes that the specialized nature of the vehicles requires specific expertise that only the identified contractor possesses, making competition impractical and potentially detrimental to mission requirements.
