About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure aircraft components, specifically three units of a National Stock Number (NSN) 7R-1680-015834344-V2, which requires specialized engineering source approval. This pre-solicitation notice indicates that only previously approved sources will be considered for this flight-critical item, with strict qualification requirements for potential contractors. Companies interested in bidding must submit detailed technical information through the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval Information Brochures, demonstrating their engineering capabilities, manufacturing knowledge, and technical expertise. While the exact award value is not specified, the procurement involves three units of a specialized aircraft component. The pre-solicitation was originally posted on March 26, 2022, with a due date extending to February 7, 2025, providing a substantial window for potential contractors to prepare and submit their qualifications. The procurement will be conducted under FAR 6.302-1 authority, which allows for negotiation with a single source when unique capabilities are required. Potential contractors must be prepared to provide comprehensive technical documentation, including details about their production experience, engineering capabilities, and ability to meet the government's strict quality and technical requirements for this flight-critical component.
