About this opportunity

The United States Marine Corps, specifically the Regional Contracting Office at MCRD Parris Island, is conducting market research to identify potential contractors for providing dumpster services during hurricane evacuation efforts in Albany, GA. The source sought synopsis seeks businesses capable of supplying up to 10 solid waste dumpsters with weekly trash removal, covering the anticipated hurricane season from June 1, 2024, through November 30, 2025. Interested vendors must provide specific information including small business status under the NAICS code 562991, confirmation of GSA/FSS contract availability, CAGE code, DUNS number, and a contractor capabilities statement. The government is performing preliminary market research and has not yet issued a formal Request for Quotation, reserving the right to issue multiple contracts for this requirement. Vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and are expected to respond to the draft Performance Work Statement with their technical capabilities.

The procurement does not have a specific set-aside designation, and the estimated service will involve providing and maintaining dumpsters for supporting the movement of approximately 8,000 recruits and personnel during potential hurricane evacuations. The contract will be firm-fixed price, with payment only for actual services rendered and the potential for early termination. Contractors will be responsible for daily cleaning of dumpsters, supplying trash bags, and assuming full operational and liability costs, including insurance for their personnel. The period of performance is contingent on hurricane evacuation needs, with services potentially extending to Fort Knox, Kentucky. While no specific award value is mentioned, the contract requires leasing and servicing 40 dumpsters with daily cleaning and removal requirements. Potential contractors should note the response deadline is May 21, 2025, and key points of contact are Captain Zachary Keener and Sergeant Cameron Thach from the USMC.
