About this opportunity

The U.S. Air Force 184th Wing is seeking to procure one Dump Bed Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) for the 184th Civil Engineering Squadron at McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas. The UTV must meet seven specific salient characteristics: it must run on gas or diesel fuel, feature a dump bed and liquid-cooled engine, offer selectable 2WD/4WD capability, provide sufficient ground clearance to navigate over curbs and gutters, have a minimum 1,700-pound payload capacity (reduced from the original 1,800-pound requirement), and include a climate-controlled cab with doors and heating system. The solicitation was amended on September 15, 2025, to reduce the payload requirement and extend the submission deadline. Evaluation will be conducted on a firm-fixed-price basis, assessing both price competitiveness and the product's ability to meet the specified technical requirements. The original solicitation closing date of September 16, 2025, at 0900 CST was extended to September 22, 2025, at 0900 CST, with quotes to be submitted via email to the contracting office.

This procurement is designated as a set-aside for Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) concerns under NAICS code 441227 with a size standard of $40,000,000. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the solicitation documentation. While no specific budget range is disclosed, the procurement falls under the small business size standard threshold and involves a single unit purchase, suggesting a moderate contract value typical for specialized utility vehicles. The contract requires delivery of one UTV by October 30, 2025, with the contractor responsible for all transportation costs to the delivery location. Performance will take place at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas, where the 184th Contingency Response Group will receive and utilize the vehicle for civil engineering operations.
