About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 32 hydraulic drive units (NSN 7R-1650-014744638-V2) for aircraft systems, with a specific focus on engineering source approval and technical data requirements. This procurement is critically important due to the flight-critical nature of the component and the need to maintain high-quality manufacturing standards. Potential contractors must submit detailed technical information through the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval Information Brochures, demonstrating their capability to produce the specified item. Only sources previously approved by the Government will be considered, and any new source must undergo a rigorous qualification process approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. Interested parties have until May 16, 2025, to submit their proposals, with a clear requirement to provide comprehensive technical documentation proving their manufacturing expertise and compliance with specific design specifications.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this contract opportunity. The procurement is for a quantity of 32 units, with delivery specified as FOB Origin, suggesting potential contractors must be prepared to manage their own shipping logistics. While no specific award value is mentioned, the technical complexity and source approval requirements suggest this is a specialized contract likely to be of significant value to a qualified manufacturer. The contract involves a technical data package (TDP) version 006, with reference number 42555-43, indicating a precise and detailed specification for the hydraulic drive unit. Potential contractors should note that the Government may proceed with award based on Fleet support needs, even if source approval evaluations are not fully completed within the expected timeframe. Interested parties without previous approval must be prepared to submit extensive technical documentation demonstrating their capability to produce this critical aircraft component.
