About this opportunity

The United States Agency for International Development in the Democratic Republic of Congo seeks to develop resilient agriculture and food market systems that support accessibility and consumption of safe and nutritious food in the anticipated Zone of Influence of Kasai Central and Kongo Central provinces through a potential new activity. Responses to the Request for Information should provide information on local partner organizations, approaches to improve nutrition outcomes, constraints in the agri-food sector, lessons from prior activities, opportunities for marginalized groups and climate-smart enterprises, and ways to enhance seed systems and public-private partnerships. Responses are due by January 30, 2024 to inform activity planning.

There is no set-aside designation for this potential award. The anticipated Zone of Influence encompasses an area of 2.3 million hectares with an estimated population of 2.33 million people. Respondents are asked to address constraints and propose solutions for the local agri-food sector to increase food security, improve nutrition, stimulate job-creating enterprises, and promote climate-smart agriculture initiatives through the potential activity.
