About this opportunity

Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime intends to solicit door and access utility hardware (NSN 5340-016635150) with a response date of September 3, 2026. The procurement is unrestricted; however, three approved sources—Durex International, Leidos Inc, and FlightAb, Inc—are currently the only qualified suppliers due to unique design capability, engineering skills, and proprietary manufacturing knowledge that are not economically available to the Government and are essential to maintaining part quality. An alternate source may qualify through design control activity procedures approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity.

Place of performance is not specified. The part is hardware manufactured under NAICS 332510. Qualification of any alternate source requires approval by the Government engineering activity having jurisdiction over the part in its intended application. Prospective sources are invited to submit information regarding capability to manufacture these items directly to Contract Specialist Sarah Harmon (sarah.harmon@dla.mil) by September 3, 2026. The Government is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources and inform realistic solicitation terms prior to formal RFP issuance. A separate market survey regarding Hook, Latch, Aircraft items (NSN 5340-01-564-5512) requests information on capability to supply 60 units with a potential 100-percent option for 120 units total under Firm Fixed Price terms, with responses also due to Harmon by the same deadline.
