About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is conducting a sole source acquisition for one DN Solutions DNM 6700 (4th Generation) 3-Axis Vertical Machining Center to be delivered to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington. The sophisticated machining center must include comprehensive components such as a FANUC 0i-Plus Control, 30-tool Automatic Tool Changer, 15,000 rpm High Speed Spindle, Through Spindle Coolant, Chip Conveyor, Mist Collector, 4-axis NC Rotary Table, and Renishaw measurement probes. Contractors must provide complete technical documentation, operator training for up to six personnel over two consecutive eight-hour workdays, and ensure OSHA compliance along with various federal standards. For responsive submissions, bidders must complete the solicitation packet in its entirety, provide their CAGE code, quote FOB Destination to Bremerton, annotate lead times and manufacturing details, and submit signed documentation by the September 17, 2025 deadline at 1:00 PM. The evaluation will focus on technical compliance, delivery capability, and adherence to the detailed specifications outlined in the purchase description.
This procurement was initially set aside for small businesses under NAICS code 333517 (Machine Tool Manufacturing) with a 500-employee size standard, but a recent amendment removed this restriction, opening the competition to all qualified contractors regardless of size. The sole source nature indicates DN Solutions as the targeted manufacturer for this specific equipment model. The single unit must be delivered to Building 431, Shop 31, Work Center 35 at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, with installation responsibilities shared between the government and contractor. The procurement includes substantial technical requirements including electrical specifications of 220 Volt, 3 Phase, 120 Amp power source, comprehensive documentation packages, and post-delivery acceptance testing. Performance will occur at the Bremerton, Washington naval facility, with the contractor responsible for precise equipment leveling and alignment while the government handles initial off-loading and anchor bolt installation.
