About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is procuring 46 units of a Display Unit (NSN 7R-7025-017016917-P8) classified under IT and Telecom equipment. This procurement is restricted to Government-approved sources only, as the item is flight-critical and requires engineering source approval to maintain quality standards. Potential contractors must demonstrate existing unique design capabilities, engineering expertise, and manufacturing knowledge specific to this component. The Government has determined that adequate technical data is not available to support full and open competition, and only previously approved sources have been solicited for this opportunity. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on February 5, 2026, with a proposal due date of March 23, 2026. Contractors who are not currently approved sources must submit source approval information along with their proposals, including technical data demonstrating their company's relevant production experience or capability to manufacture this or similar items.
No set-aside designations apply to this procurement. The contract specifies delivery FOB Origin for the 46-unit quantity, with specific reference number 1072288P-8. While the pre-solicitation notice does not explicitly state an award value or total contract budget, the requirement for Government source approval prior to award and the flight-critical nature of the component indicate this is a specialized procurement where qualification procedures established by the cognizant Government engineering activity will be strictly applied. Contractors seeking to qualify as new sources should note that the approval timeline is typically lengthy, and delays cannot be accommodated pending new source qualification. Additional source approval information and procedures are available through the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Business Opportunities portal for both spares and repair-related submissions.
