About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a Display Unit (NSN 7H-7025-016587483) for repair/modification, with a requirement for 3 units to be delivered FOB Origin. The proposed contract action will be negotiated under FAR 6.302-1, which allows for sole-source procurement when specific technical data or manufacturing/repair knowledge is not widely available. Interested parties must obtain technical specifications through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) and may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 45 days of the publication date. The government will evaluate responses to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement, with the final decision solely at their discretion. Potential vendors must comply with specific DoD standards and may need to demonstrate capability to provide the specialized display unit.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this procurement, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned. The solicitation is not being processed under FAR Part 12 for commercial items, though vendors may propose commercial alternatives within 15 days of the notice. The procurement is potentially subject to Free Trade Agreements and may involve DFARS clauses related to Buy American Act and trade agreements. While no specific award value is detailed, the requirement is for 3 units with precise technical specifications. The current timeline includes a response deadline of March 31, 2025, with potential for further negotiation or clarification through the Naval Supply Systems Command's contracting officers. Vendors interested in this opportunity will need to demonstrate specialized technical capabilities and compliance with strict military manufacturing standards.
