About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is seeking to procure one LCD display unit identified by NSN 7H-7025-016263895 under a sole source procurement action. The agency intends to negotiate with only Maritime Applied Physics Corp (0E3P8) as the approved source, as the government does not own the technical data or rights necessary to enable competition from additional suppliers. The government has determined it would be uneconomical to purchase the data rights or reverse engineer the component. While this is announced as a sole source action, all responsible sources may express interest and submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 45 days of the July 1, 2025 posting date, with the due date for initial responses set for July 7, 2025. The government reserves sole discretion in determining whether to proceed with competitive procurement based on any responses received.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and Maritime Applied Physics Corp appears to be the incumbent contractor with exclusive capability to provide this specialized LCD display component. The contract calls for delivery of exactly one unit on an FOB origin basis, though no specific contract value or budget range is disclosed in the notice. The government has indicated this procurement will not follow the commercial item acquisition procedures under FAR Part 12, suggesting this is a specialized military or technical component rather than a commercially available product. Interested parties have 15 days from the notice date to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item alternative.
