About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command seeks to procure 30 units of disk assemblies for multi-aircraft wheel and brake systems repair/modification under NSN 7R-1630-145765155-P8. This procurement requires government source approval prior to contract award due to the flight-critical nature of the components and the determination that available technical data may not support full and open competition. Only previously approved sources have been solicited, though new sources may submit proposals along with comprehensive source approval documentation as detailed in NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support brochures. The government intends to negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though all responsible sources may express interest and capability within 45 days of the notice publication date (30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The solicitation period runs from April 11, 2025, through July 9, 2025, with delivery required FOB origin.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and operates under full and open competition parameters, despite the restricted source approval requirements. No specific incumbent contractors or potential award values are identified in the pre-solicitation notice. The contract specifies a quantity of 30 each disk assemblies with technical data package version 001, and companies without current source approval must demonstrate their production capabilities for the same or similar items through detailed technical submissions. Based on market research, the government has determined that FAR Part 12 commercial item acquisition policies will not be applied to this procurement. Interested commercial item providers have 15 days from the notice date to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with commercial alternatives.
