About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 9 seeks a digital wellness platform for the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr. VA Medical Center in Memphis. The platform must provide 24/7 interactive wellness services including yoga, tai chi, meditation, and mindfulness classes for veterans and VA employees through live, two-way video instruction. Key requirements include veteran-trauma focused professional instructors with specific credentials like Yoga Alliance e-RYT200 certification, accommodations for unlimited participants, robust data security, and de-identified usage metrics. The solicitation targets businesses under NAICS code 611620 and requires responses by March 14, 2025, at 12:00 PM Central Time. Evaluation criteria will likely focus on instructor qualifications, platform capabilities, security features, and ability to meet the VA's comprehensive wellness objectives.
The procurement potentially will be set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), or other small businesses with a $9 million size standard. The contract period is planned for five years, spanning from May 1, 2025, to April 30, 2030, with a base year and four option years. While no specific incumbent is mentioned, the platform aims to address current staffing and space challenges in delivering wellness services, with the goal of reducing veteran community healthcare seeking, decreasing prescription costs, and improving employee wellness. The virtual platform will provide services for all veterans and employees, regardless of chronic conditions, with a focus on building resilience and encouraging overall health. The procurement represents a strategic approach to expanding wellness access without requiring additional physical infrastructure or staffing at the medical center.
Notice text
Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center has an essential need for an interactive and digital platform aimed at improving overall wellbeing. This platform would fill an unmet need by improving access without the need for new staff or use of onsite designated space at Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center. It will reduce Veterans seeking Complementary and Integrative Health care in the community. For medical center employees, using these modalities is aimed to help reduce burnout, increase productivity, and decrease turnover. Consistent yoga and/or mediation practice can have an impact on the perception of pain, and therefore reduce prescription costs or unnecessary appointments at Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center. At this moment, Yoga and Taichi groups are being provided at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center for only Veterans with pain but due to staffing and space challenges unable to meet the demand. These services are not available for all other Veterans whose overall wellbeing would be improved by participating. These wellness services will build resilience and encourage health among Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center employees and Veterans regardless of what chronic conditions they may have or have not. The purpose of this contract is to provide a virtual wellbeing platform subscription, which covers all Veterans and Employees of Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr VA Medical Center.
