Notice text

Develop two wildfire risk systems in support of Western Wildland Threat Assessment Center (WWETAC) fire research efforts.

Western Wildfire Risk Explorer:  An online fire risk mapping system built on existing map layer datasets developed by WWETAC and others.  This new web application extends and enhances functionality in the cloud mapping system developed in previous work to specifically analyze wildfire risk issues on the 82 western National Forests, and adds interactive functionality and analysis capability.

ArcMap Early Warning System:  This extension will analyze percent change NDVI for polygons in a selected map layer.  The applicationwill utilize percent change NDVI from MODIS change detection data that is updated by-weekly.  The application will connect to the server to retrieve the latest change detection datasets.  User-specified polygons will be overlaid with percent change NDVI layers to determine polygons with high disturbance levels.  Reports will be generated to summarize the results of the analysis.

Statute authorizing sole-source procurement action is National Agriculture Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977, Sec. 1472.
