About this opportunity
SUMMARY
The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base has issued a Determination and Findings (D&F) for contract consolidation of multiple Science and Technology (S&T) requirements into a single Multiple Award Contract (AMAC). This Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle is designed to consolidate previously separate requirements to achieve substantial benefits including cost savings, improved efficiency, reduced acquisition lead time, and enhanced performance.
The consolidation strategy prioritizes small business participation through a recommended Small Business Set-Aside pool to ensure equitable task order opportunities. The AMAC will provide a standardized contract vehicle with decentralized ordering capabilities to support AFRL projects across multiple small business contractors, enabling broader competition and improved quality of firm selection.
Key anticipated benefits include shortened acquisition cycles, streamlined contract management, standardized terms and conditions, and significant administrative cost savings. The consolidation is projected to save thousands of man-hours annually by eliminating repetitive pre-award acquisition activities and streamlining the task order process across contracting, project management, engineering, legal, and policy departments.
The determination was posted on January 14, 2026, with an award date of April 30, 2026. The contract was awarded to an undisclosed vendor for an undisclosed amount under contract number FA865226DXXXX.
