About this opportunity

This pre-solicitation notice seeks information from vendors for the demilitarization and disposal of depleted uranium munitions, including 30mm, 105mm, and 120mm rounds and components. The Department of the Army Materiel Command Joint Munitions Command is confirming capabilities of vendors who previously responded to sources sought solicitation W52P1J19SDU, and is also seeking capabilities statements from new vendors. Responses are required to provide facility and equipment details, experience with similar work, pricing estimates, storage and regulatory compliance plans, and any other information relevant for a potential future formal Request for Proposal. The deadline for responses is 3:00PM Central Time on October 9, 2019 to the identified Army contacts.

No set-aside designation is specified. The NAICS code for this requirement would likely be 562910, and the PSC code R699. The attached listing provides national stock numbers, nomenclature, and quantities of depleted uranium munitions stockpiled at various Army locations that could potentially be included in any future award. Quantities listed total over 300,000 pounds of depleted uranium, indicating a sizeable disposal and demilitarization effort would be undertaken under any resulting contract.
