About this opportunity

The Defense Information Systems Agency has awarded a class justification and approval modification (MOD 1) for software support procurement covering calendar years 2026–2030 on July 10, 2026, under contract 2026-2030SWClassJAMod01.

MOD 1 is an administrative modification that aligns regulatory authorities with the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul framework without changing the mission requirement, total estimated ceiling, or period of performance. The underlying justification authorizes brand-name software support services for proprietary, mission-critical COTS software assets integrated into mission partner infrastructure, excluding new software licenses or subscriptions. Only OEM-supplied support meets Government requirements due to system integration constraints, proprietary software ownership, interoperability requirements, and the absence of authorized third-party support alternatives. Software support services include product updates, upgrades, new releases and versions, fixes, and patches necessary to maintain operability of existing software products.

Procurements will be awarded as firm-fixed-price contracts or delivery orders to authorized OEM resellers through NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP), Army Computer Hardware Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS), General Services Administration Federal Supply Schedules, or open market sources. Primary statutory authorities include FAR 16.505(a)(4) for NASA SEWP competitions under 10 U.S.C. 3406(c)(5), FAR 8.405-6(b)(1) for GSA FSS orders under 41 U.S.C. 152(3), and FAR 6.302-1/DFARS 206.302-1 for open market sources under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Price reasonableness will be determined at the individual contract or order level through competitive quotes, historical pricing, and commercial price lists. Open market contracts exceeding specified lifecycle cost thresholds require cost and price analysis per DISA Acquisition Regulation Supplement 5815.404-1(S-91).
