About this opportunity
NASA Kennedy Space Center has published a Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice for a contract modification with Aegis Aerospace, Inc. to continue providing Deep Space Logistics Engineering Support (LENS) services. The justification seeks to add a one-year option period from November 30, 2025, through November 29, 2026, to the existing task order under the GSA OASIS contract, extending the total potential contract period to six years. LENS provides systems engineering and integration support for the Deep Space Logistics project office, which is responsible for developing and executing Gateway Logistics Services missions in support of NASA's Artemis program beginning with Artemis IV. NASA justifies the sole source award based on unprecedented uncertainties, including potential budget reductions and program terminations, arguing that only the incumbent contractor can provide the specialized services required without risking project delays as the DSL team approaches critical mission design reviews. The modification does not increase the original estimated total contract value, and NASA intends to issue a follow-on competitive request for proposal on the OASIS+ Total Small Business contract once agency requirements are clarified.
Notice text
The LENS engineering services support the Deep Space Logistics (DSL) project office at Kennedy Space Center (KSC). DSL is tasked with providing the launch service for the Gateway Logistics Module used in support of the Artemis missions (beginning with Artemis IV) and do so via a separate launch services contract, Gateway Logistics Services (GLS). This includes systems engineering and integration support of all DSL related work to develop, integrate, and execute the GLS missions.
Awarded contract 80KSC021F0014 to unknown vendor for unknown amount on 2020-11-30.
