About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) is seeking to procure 57 Data Transfer Units (NSN 7R-5999-016517373-CC) with delivery FOB Origin. This pre-solicitation notice indicates a complex procurement process that requires Government source approval prior to contract award, as the item is considered flight critical. Potential offerors must submit detailed technical information from the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures, demonstrating their capability to produce the item. Only sources previously approved by the Government will be considered, and offers that fail to provide comprehensive data will be automatically disqualified. The solicitation is open from January 23, 2025, with proposals due by March 10, 2025, and interested parties have 15 days to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item.

There are no specific set-aside designations for this contract, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned in the notice. The procurement will follow Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clause 52.209-1, which requires offerors, products, services, and manufacturers to meet qualification requirements at the time of award. The total quantity is 57 units, with the contract focused on electrical and electronic components under PSC Category 5999. While no specific award value is provided, the complexity of source approval and flight-critical nature suggest this is a high-value, specialized procurement. Potential vendors must be prepared to undergo rigorous technical evaluation and provide comprehensive documentation to demonstrate their manufacturing capabilities and compliance with naval specifications.
