This pre-solicitation notice seeks information from contractors capable of providing an orbital riveter to repair C-5M main landing gear brake torque tubes for the 436th Contracting Squadron at Dover Air Force Base. The riveter must have a 3 phase 230 or 460 VAC/60Hz power source, T-205 orbital head with rivet head form tool, horn fixture T70-447B, and operate between 32-114 degrees Fahrenheit. It must also include dual hand safety controls with mounting brackets, a foot activating device with safety guard, and have dimensions no larger than 23.5"Lx26.5"Wx76.7"H with a 2 foot clearance around all sides. Responses are due by March 29, 2021 at 1:00pm EDT.
This opportunity is set aside for total small business and has a NAICS code of 333992 for welding and soldering equipment manufacturing with a small business size standard of 1,250 employees. Respondents must provide their Cage Code, DUNS, company information, and small business status. While this is not a solicitation, interested small businesses must submit a capabilities statement by the deadline to be considered for any potential set aside. Failure to submit such a statement may disqualify a business from consideration under the set aside.

The 436th Contracting Squadron (436 CONS) is seeking information concerning the availability of capable contractors shall provide all equipment and materials, to include delivery, for an orbital riveter to repair C-5M main landing gear brake torque tubes.
This sources sought notice is for informational purposes only. This is NOT a Request for Proposal, Request for Quote, or Invitation for Bid. It does not constitute a solicitation and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. Responses in any form are not offers and the Government is under no obligation to award a contract as a result of this announcement. No funds are available to pay for preparation of responses to this announcement. Any information submitted by respondents to this technical description is strictly voluntary.
The contractor shall provide the 436 MXS/MXMCH section with:
T-501F orbital riveter, or similar product, with the following salient characteristics:
1. Power Source: 3 Phase 230 or 460 VAC/60Hz
2. T-205 orbital head with rivet head form tool
3. Horn fixture T70-447B
4. Operating environment: 32 degrees F to 114 degrees F
5. Dual hand safety controls w/ mounting brackets
6. Foot activating device w/ safety guard
7. Dimensions: 23.5”Lx26.5”Wx76.7”H (2ft birth all around for clearance)
This Request for Information (RFI) is issued for informational and planning purposes only and will be used to facilitate decision making and will not be disclosed outside the agency. This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ). It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Responses will not be considered as quotes, nor will any award be made as a result of this RFI. The Air Force will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this RFI. Contact with Government personnel other than those specified in this RFI by potential offerors or their employees regarding this project is prohibited. This FedBizOps notice is an announcement seeking market information on vendors capable of providing the product as described herein.
For purposed of this RFI, the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 333992 – Welding and Soldering Equipment Manufacturing, and the small business size standard is 1,250 Employees.
