About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 19 units of a specific Cylinder Assembly (NSN 7R-1680-008736277-JT) with Technical Data Package Version 001, in accordance with reference number 149C4073-101. This pre-solicitation notice indicates that the procurement is for a flight-critical component requiring government source approval prior to contract award. Only previously approved sources will be considered, and potential bidders must submit comprehensive technical data demonstrating their capability to produce the item through the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval process. Interested parties have 45 days from the publication date to identify their interest and capability, with proposals due by June 16, 2025. The government intends to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, and will evaluate submissions based on technical competence and ability to meet strict military specifications.
The solicitation does not have a specific set-aside designation and will be delivered FOB Origin. While no specific award value is disclosed, the procurement involves a relatively small quantity of 19 units, suggesting a limited scope contract. Early and incremental deliveries will be accepted, providing flexibility for the contractor. The government has explicitly noted that they lack adequate technical data to purchase or contract repair of this part from multiple sources, which significantly narrows the potential competitive field. Potential bidders must carefully review the NAVSUP WSS Source Approval Information Brochures and be prepared to submit comprehensive technical documentation demonstrating their manufacturing capabilities. The contract will prioritize fleet support needs, and the government retains discretion to proceed with award even if source approval processes are not fully completed within the expected timeline.
