About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 250 units of a Cylinder Assembly (NSN 7R-1660-010140576-P8) for repair and modification purposes. This procurement falls under the Aircraft Air Conditioning, Heating, and Pressurizing Equipment category and is classified as flight-critical equipment, requiring Government source approval prior to contract award. Prospective contractors must demonstrate their qualifications by submitting comprehensive technical data and source approval documentation as detailed in the applicable NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval Information Brochures. Only previously Government-approved sources have been solicited for this opportunity due to the flight-critical nature of the item and insufficient technical data to support full and open competition. The deadline for proposal submission is December 23, 2025, and contractors should be aware that failure to provide all required source approval documentation will render their offers ineligible for award consideration.

This pre-solicitation notice includes no set-aside designation, meaning it is available to all qualified contractors regardless of business size or status. The requirement specifies a quantity of 250 units with delivery on a free-on-board (FOB) origin basis. The notice does not disclose a specific award value or budget range, but contractors should note that if source approval evaluation cannot be completed in time to meet Government requirements, the Navy may proceed with award to an approved source based on Fleet support needs. Contractors not currently approved as sources must submit their source approval requests concurrently with their proposals, including documentation of their company's experience with the same or similar items. Any contractor with a pending source approval request at NAVSUP WSS should include a copy of the approval cover letter with their offer.
