About this opportunity
NASA's Shared Services Center issued a sources sought notice on October 22, 2026, for CVI Helium Compressor & System Component Rebuilds and Spare Parts, with capability statements due by 1:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on October 27, 2026. NASA intends to award a sole-source contract to Kendall Holdings Ltd. under FAR 12.102(a), though the government retains discretion to conduct competitive acquisition based on submitted capability statements.
Work scope includes rebuilds of three CVI CBST 6.0 air-cooled helium compressors and one CVI CGR-511 drive head, plus spare parts procurement. Compressor rebuild work encompasses complete unit replacement, new control panels, pressure gauges, check valves, indicator lights, filters, strainers, electrical cooling fans, adsorber, and buffer tank bypass valve, along with mechanical and control upgrades, tubing assemblies, fittings, seals, decontamination, purification, and leak testing. Two 1995-vintage compressors may require control panel upgrades at an additional $3,500. Drive head rebuild covers bearing and sleeve replacement, shuttle valve set, yoke shaft, cam assembly, motor, and all seals. All rebuild work must be performed by PHPK-qualified technicians at the PHPK factory. Performance testing and 12-month warranties are included for both compressor and drive head work. Spare parts include displacer seals, seal ring retainers, and complete displacer assemblies for LS2 stages.
Interested contractors must submit written capability statements only—quotes will not be reviewed—to Cara Craft (cara.s.craft@nasa.gov) or Karen Artis (Karen.artis@nasa.gov). Work is performed at NASA Glenn Research Center. NAICS 332999; PSC J018.
