About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is seeking a customs broker to provide comprehensive services for military cargo and personnel entering and departing Australia during Exercise Talisman Saber 25. The solicitation, issued by the 3rd Expeditionary Contracting Platoon, requires a contractor to handle all customs documentation, clearance, and coordination through Australian Border Force Customs at multiple locations including Sydney Port, RAAF Darwin, RAAF Townsville, and Brisbane Port. Quotes will be evaluated based on three factors: technical capability, price, and past performance, with the government intending to make a single aggregate award. Potential contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and submit a complete quote with all line items priced. The solicitation is conducted under full and open competition with NAICS code 488510, and quotes must be submitted via email to chris.echavarria@usmc.mil by May 27, 2025, with questions accepted within 72 hours of the RFQ posting.
The contract has no specific set-aside designations and will cover customs broker services from June 4 to August 3, 2025, supporting approximately 2,100 Marines with personal gear, weapons, and communication equipment. The performance will involve clearing multiple military vessels, aircraft (including C-130s), and various equipment such as communication systems, vehicles, and night vision goggles. Contractors must be prepared to process customs entries within 5 calendar days, handle urgent air shipments within 48 hours, and coordinate agricultural cleaning and inspections to meet Australian biosecurity standards. The total deployment will involve 55 personnel from units like VMFA-242 and MALS-12, with equipment transported across multiple ports and training areas including Shoalwater Training Area. While no specific award value is explicitly stated, the NAICS size standard is set at $20.0M, indicating the potential scale of the procurement.
