About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is soliciting quotes for ten custom high-precision gearboxes for delivery to Bremerton, Washington, with quotes due November 22, 2026. The Set Aside line reads "No Set-Aside Used," but the attached sole-source justification, per its file summary, names Parker Hannifin as the manufacturer and Olympus Controls as authorized dealer, and cites a sole-source value range of $15,000 to $350,000.
Place of performance is Bremerton, WA 98314, with FOB Destination pricing and delivery requested to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard IMF. The item is an Olympus Controls PS90-050-S2 inline helical planetary gearbox (part CG-PS90-050-90582) with stainless steel screws, black anodized finish, no lubrication (L02), and a thru-hole output shaft. The justification cites part CG-PS90-050-90S82 and a required delivery date of January 4, 2027, while the file summary lists delivery by November 20, 2026. Quote cutoffs conflict across the notice: the structured due date is November 22, 2026, the file summary lists November 2, 2026 at 10:00 AM, and the notice body cites a September 28, 2025 deadline that predates posting. Confirm against the solicitation before planning.
If NIST SP 800-171 applies, the awardee must hold a current DFARS 252.204-7019 assessment, not more than three years old unless the solicitation specifies a shorter period. COTS items are exempt but must be identified to the contracting officer during the solicitation period. Signed, completed solicitations must accompany quotes by email to karl.lindley@dla.mil. Evaluation is Lowest Price Technically Acceptable on a firm fixed-price basis, per the file summary. Additional requirements include inspection at destination, WAWF invoicing for payments over $15,000, DBIDS base access, ten-year supply chain traceability retention, item unique identification marking, $500,000 per occurrence general liability insurance, and ASTM D3951 commercial packaging.
