I. STATEMENT OF WORK
1.0. General Information
1.1 Scope
The Secret Service Canine Explosive Detection Unit is seeking to expand our unit and we are looking to purchase 48 custom made metal vehicle kennels. These custom kennels are used in the canine unit's minivans and SUVs'. The custom made kennel dimensions consist of 38" Wide X 40" Deep X 32" High. The kennels should have tabs to be used as mounted anchor points. These tabs are important and allow the kennels to be secured in the vehicle. These kennels are framed in 6063 aluminum radius square tubing. The kennel frames are to be framed in the square tubing with sheets of aluminum connected to the tubing, made of 3003 aluminum (16 gauge aluminum sheet metal has a thickness of .0508 inches). The kennels are to be made from aluminum to prevent rust and corrosion. The kennels should also have doors in both the front and back of the kennel, which allows our technicians easy access and also provides an added safety feature. The latches for the doors are to be made from stainless steel and have the capability of locking. The tubes on the side of the kennel should have a maximum distance of 2 inches and all the door bars should have a maximum spacing of 1 ¾ " between the vertical bars. The kennels also come with a 48 inch rubber mat that provides the canine with a safer and cleaner environment in which to work. Please note there is no deviation of kennel specifications because they are for the safety of the dogs.
