Update #1 ·

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to issue a solicitation for its requirement to obtain pre-printed and unprinted currency straps and currency bundle bands used by the BEP for packaging of the U.S. currency banknotes at the Western Currency Facility & Washington, DC Facility. Currently, the manufactured currency straps and currency bundle bands are used in the Packaging Section of BEP's currency Overprinting Examination and Packaging Machines (COPE-PAK). Part of the currency production process is to place a paper band around the reserve notes to indicate denomination. The Government anticipates that the resulting contract will be Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract with fixed price line items. The period of performance will be five (5) years. It is anticipated that Offerors will submit material samples to the Ft. Worth, Texas facility and the Washington, D.C. facility for evaluation. These material sample submissions are for technical evaluation purposes by the BEP to ensure that the proposed products are in compliance with the specification. Samples shall be submitted separately from the proposal document; these samples are considered a part of each offeror's proposal package and must be submitted by the time specified for receipt of proposals.
It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or around July 11, 2016. Questions regarding this procurement should be addressed to Tonya Sullivan, Contract Specialist via email at Tonya.Sullivan@bep.gov and Kathleen Barton, Contracting Officer via email at kathleen.barton@bep.gov. Telephonic requests will not be honored.
