About this opportunity

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has issued a Special Notice regarding a corporate membership with the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). The notice, posted on February 20, 2025, with a response deadline of March 1, 2025, is a single-source solicitation for professional membership. The FHWA intends to acquire ITE memberships to provide professional development opportunities for individuals actively engaged in transportation-related professional fields. This notice is being published under the procurement regulation 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), which allows for unique source procurement when a specific vendor is the sole provider of required services.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to secure corporate memberships that support professional development, education, and information exchange in transportation engineering. Interested parties are invited to submit descriptions of their capabilities, though the FHWA emphasizes that this is not a competitive procurement process. The membership will provide access to technical resources, standards, recommended practices, and professional networking opportunities exclusively through ITE. Contractors or interested firms can submit their capabilities descriptions by March 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM Mountain Time directly to Jerry Dans at jerry.danso@dot.gov. The notice is categorized under NAICS 813920 (Professional Organizations) and PSC U005 (Education/Training Fees), indicating its focus on professional organizational membership and development. Any submissions will be evaluated solely to determine whether a competitive procurement might be necessary in the future.
