Synopsis/Solicitation Combo
INTRODUCTION
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations/proposals are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2020-06, effective 05 June 2020. This acquisition is a total small business set-aside. The associated NAICS code is 541690, Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services, with an associated size standard of $16.5 million annually.
SPECIFICATION
The U.S. Geological Survey, Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center, requires the services of a researcher to (1) Collect cores to analyze and describe tsunami deposits or other earthquake-related sedimentary features, (2) Determine the ages and recurrence of past southern Cascadia megathrust events as recorded in lacustrine sediments, and (3) Determine the relative magnitudes of past tsunamis and earthquakes using the sedimentologic characteristics of observed tsunami deposits in tandem with forward tsunami sediment transport and inundation models. SUBMISSION OF QUOTATIONS/PROPOSALS
Quotations/Proposals shall only be accepted through electronic mail addressed to the Contracting Officer at nlushenko@usgs.gov. All proposal documents required by this solicitation must be uploaded and received in their entirety no later than 17 June 2020 at 1700 ET. Proposals submitted by hardcopy or the FedConnect web portal or FedConnect Message Center shall not be accepted or considered.
