About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 6 each of NSN 7R-5831-016265909-P8 intercommunication control units for repair/modification through a sole source acquisition under FAR 6.302-1. The agency has determined that adequate technical data for competitive procurement is not available, cannot be obtained economically, and cannot support the development of adequate specifications for open competition. Only government-approved sources will be considered due to the flight-critical nature of the item and the time required for new source approval. Interested parties who are not currently approved sources must submit comprehensive technical data and source approval information using NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support brochures, with all required documentation due by August 18, 2025. The government will consider all proposals received within 45 days of publication but reserves the right to proceed with sole source award based on fleet support needs if source approval evaluations cannot be completed in time.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and will be conducted as a full and open opportunity only to pre-approved sources. No specific incumbent contractors or potential award values are identified in the notice. The contract requires delivery of 6 units FOB origin, with the items being flight-critical components requiring government source approval prior to award. The solicitation is posted as of July 3, 2025, with a response deadline of August 18, 2025, though the government notes that award timing may be accelerated based on fleet support requirements. Interested commercial item providers have only 15 days from the notice date to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with commercial alternatives.
